Auto Car | Paris Motor Show 2010: Kia Pop, The Korean Concept Rival For Smart | Kia has released the first images of a new concept, expected at Paris Auto Show. Called Pop, the model has only 118 inches, a rival for Smart.

Kia will bring this year at Paris Motor Show a new concept, already predicted by several teaser images. The South Korean automaker plans to attract the public attention to an electric vehicle for urban areas, but adopting a non-conformist design, drawn by the same Peter Schreyer.

The first information talking about the new concept as the first proof of Kia’s intention to enter on a new European car market, constantly increasing, the micro-sized car. Called Pop, the concept will propose to the public an electric unit, powered by lithium ion batteries that can be loaded and integrated with the roof wide cells.

The South Koreans have shown that they know how to use this technology since spring of this year, when brought to the Chicago Auto Show the Ray concept. This amount of energy delivered over the sun to keep running an air conditioning system with continuous operation, which was intended to maintain a pleasant interior temperature regardless of the outside temperature.

New Pop concept will measure about 118 inches and will adopt a revolutionary design with unusual lines, LED lights and non-conformist ergonomic. In its interior will be able to travel three passengers, the seating arrangement is a 2+1 type.
