Gemballa Avalanche Porsche GT2 EVO 2008

Auto Car | Gemballa Avalanche Porsche GT2 EVO 2008 | The basis of the Avalanche 600 GT EVO is the Porsche 997 turbo or the GT2. GEMBALLA even knows how to boost the already impressive set of performance figures of the production model. 600 bhp (442 kW) put the competition from Maranello and Sant’Agata-Bolognese in a tight spot. The six-cylinder boxer with a torque of 840 Nm – power-boosted by the GEMBALLA power kit - stands out even more. Jet-like acceleration in every gear and at every speed being the outcome. A sports intercooler ensures that this performance can be reliably accessed even in hot ambient temperatures. As an option, this task can also be performed by a racing sports intercooler. The power boost is acoustically announced by the sports exhaust system fitted by GEMBALLA, whose awesome sound thrills the vehicle occupants and listeners alike. Upon request, this can also be achieved by means of a four-pipe system instead the two tailpipe versions. GEMBALLA’s power boost allows the modified 997 to race at a top speed of 320 km/h, accomplishing the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The latter can – depending on the driver’s skill – be even further enhanced by fitting the sport shifter for vehicles with a manual gearshift, reduced gear lever travel, which is available in the “Sport” and “Race” versions.

A successful combination of various aerodynamic components from the company’s own suite goes to ensure greater downforce. In its basic version, the Avalanche 600 GT2 EVO exhibits the fundamental Avalanche modification, which is particularly prominent on the flanks in the form of the air intakes modified to give the look of a Carrera GT. Also characteristic for the Avalanche conversion are the modified side sills, which also feature air intakes, designed to help cool the brakes. In addition, GEMBALLA fits the “GT” hood, the “Avalanche” front skirt with additional cooling openings, the “GT2” front spoiler lip in black carbon, the GTR EVO tailgate skirt with an integral diffuser and hot air outlets, the GT2 EVO rear spoiler and a stoneguard. For the rear end, GEMBALLA borrows design ideas from its own Carrera GT conversion Mirage GT, which is available as a limited edition. The exhaust tailpipes with jet-fighter-style covers bear witness to this.

Needless to say, GEMBALLA also supplies the obligatory logos, identifying the 997 as a genuine GEMBALLA. Drivers wishing to show their allegiances with motor racing can adorn the front and tailgate skirt with carbon components. For the GTR EVO tailgate skirt, GEMBALLA also offers a carbon diffuser option. It is also possible to order the rear spoiler in this light-weight material. The paint finishes GEMBALLA is offering enable drivers to add that all-important eye-catching finishing touch to this aerodynamics kit. The options of a BICOLOR concept, special colors, effect colors or a “special effect” color are guaranteed head-turners.

If it looks like a racing car, it should also drive like one. The enhanced engine power alone goes a long way to achieving this. To boost the overall performance, GEMBALLA, however, relies on an additional, extensive enhancement of the suspension and brakes. The GEMBALLA “PROFESSIONAL CONCEPT” is used for the suspension. This consists of a variable ride height coilover suspension, a strut bar, stabilizer kit and stiffened axle mounts. As an option, GEMBALLA is offering the “RACE CONCEPT”, which additionally includes racing transverse links for the front and rear axle. For vehicles without ceramic brakes, GEMBALLA offers a brake system with four red high-performance brake calipers and brake discs with the diameters 380 mm (front) and 350 mm (rear). For an additional charge, an even larger system is available with a brake disc combination 405/380 and brake calipers in the customer’s requested color.Larger wheels lend the Avalanche 600 GT2 EVO an even more impressive appearance. This is made possible by a set of GEMBALLA “Racing Black Edition” wheels in the format 9.0×20″ (front) and 11.5×20″ (rear) with size 245 and 325 tires. The wheel design is characterized by its classic racing look and the stainless steel rim flange. By way of an alternative and without paying extra, GEMBALLA will also fit the wheel design in its “Silver Edition” version or completely matt black in the “Black Magic” version.

Even the basic version of the interior trim available for the GEMBALLA Avalanche 600 GT2 EVO is entirely given over to creating a sporty appeal. Pedals and a driver’s footrest from aluminum, Avalanche logos in the door sill area, as well as instruments and foot mats, a new sports steering wheel with a 340 mm diameter in a leather/leather combination (upon request with F1 shift paddles), a conversion of the rear area and the sports package featuring leather components (not for vehicles with original leather trim) all combine to create a sporty and luxurious atmosphere. The options list allows customers to select other versions of sports steering wheels (combinations of aluminum/leather or carbon/leather, F1 shift paddles, etc.), interior packages from carbon or leather (e.g. headliner in leather or Alcantara), various sports seats (also with leather and carbon) or a new carpet for the passenger compartment.
As regards the interior, it is of course also possible to request other customized conversions.

Gemballa MIG-UI Ferrari Enzo 2010

Auto Car | Gemballa MIG-UI Ferrari Enzo 2010 | Just before Christmas a set of pictures of a Ferrari Enzo dropped in to our inbox. They turned out to be pictures of a modified Enzo created by Porsche specialist Gemballa and looked very appealing – although probably not to Ferrari aficionados who would no doubt think the Gemballa-ised Enzo to be sacrilege. But we didn’t have much detail on the Gemballa MIG-U1 (for that is the catchy little moniker Uwe Gemballa had attached to his Enzo creation) save what we could see. But that’s all changed as Gemballa has sent us the detail which we’re pleased to see – in true Gemballa tradition – includes a power hike.

The new front skirt on the MIG-U1 generates an extra 35kg of downforce and the active flap on the redesigned rear spoiler generates an extra 85kg. All four wheels now get additional ducting for cooling. There are new ducts behind the doors to feed fresh air in to the engine, which has been tweaked to deliver 700bhp, up from the standard 659bhp.

The MIG-U1 is also wider than the standard Enzo – 80mm at the front and 100mm at the back (the damn thing was wide enough anyway) and gets shod with 19″ rims at the front and 20″ rims at the back. But to make it more usable you can also opt for a lifting system so the Gemballa Enzo can cope with that bane of urban motoring in Supercars – the speed hump.Inside the Enzo gets re-trimmed and comes with a host of modern multi media kit including 7″ touch screen, SatNav, DVD, iPod connection and a 950w Amp.

This Gemballa Enzo won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is an impressive effort from Gemballa. Maybe they’re finally running out of Carrera GTs to modify which is why they’ve turned their attention to the Enzo. Mind you, with only 399 Enzos made and Gemballa intending producing 25 MIG-U1s they may struggle to find enough donor cars at sensible money.

GEMBALLA GTR 650 Avalanche 2006

Auto Car | GEMBALLA GTR 650 Avalanche 2006 | With the new Gemballa GTR 650 Avalanche, based on the Porsche 997 Carrera, the German Porsche conversion specialist Gemballa has created the dream car for the 2006 sports car year. This ultimate German sports car will be available to a selected clientele starting next year. With this refined, ultra-sporty and equally reliable automobile, Gemballa is continuing in its very own great tradition of sports car construction. The Gemballa Avalanche, Mirage and Cyrrus models from the 80's didn't earn their legendary reputation for no reason.

The performance of the 2006 dream car is already the first attention-getter. The Gemballa GTR 650 Avalanche's motor boasts a breathtaking 650 bhp. Part of the motor's conversion by the Gemballa engineers included eliciting an impressive 605 lb-ft of torque, guaranteed to bring a satisfied smile to the driver's lips already at 4,800 rpm. In comparison, the standard Porsche 997 model features maximum 295 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm. The difference puts the GTR 650 Avalanche's sprinting qualities in a class all their own. The GTR 650 Avalanche reaches the 124 mph mark in only 11.2 seconds, and the top speed is 208 mph.

But peak performance wasn't the only item at the top of the Gemballa engineers' spec sheet. The Porsche conversion specialists placed just as much emphasis on the safety and durability of the Avalanche. Titanium piston rods, an intake system specially developed by Gemballa, three intercoolers and a special turbo configuration ensure Gemballa pleasure for a long time to come. And its lucky owner only has to share this pleasure with one passenger, because for safety reasons, from 650 bhp the GTR 650 Avalanche is only available as a two-seater.

Massive eight-piston brake calipers and accordingly sized 380 millimeter diameter perforated disk brakes make sure the Avalanche also slows to a safe stop. The GTR 650 Avalanche sits on 19" wheels with tires sizes of 235 (front) and 315 (rear). The new 20" racing wheels are also optionally available, with tire sizes of 245 (front) and 325 (rear). For the particularly ambitious driver who would like to push the GTR 650 Avalanche's envelope, for example on the 'Nordschleife', Gemballa also offers an optional roll bar.

The new Avalanche's body and interior are equally as exclusive and unique as its driving performance and safety components. All of its add-on components are made of carbon. Fenders and sidewalls are all metal. And the future owner of the GTR 650 Avalanche can also look forward to Gemballa sport seats, a Gemballa sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals. Starting at 240,000 Euros, the new Gemballa dream car becomes tangible sports car euphoria.

GEMBALLA GTR 650 Evo Orange 2006

Auto Car | GEMBALLA GTR 650 Evo Orange 2006 | Just as exclusive and unique as the driving performance is the exquisite interior of the Evo, designed completely in black and orange. The ceiling lining, the dashboard and the door coverings are all upholstered in finest Alcantara, also in the black-orange color combination. The foot mats and carpet are also integrated into the design theme.

The orange-bordered instruments additionally make a particularly noble impression that harmonizes with the overall look. The purchaser can also request his or her initials in silver letters. The GEMBALLA sport steering wheel is also two-color, and the pedals are made of light aluminum. The start console is equipped with an engine-start button as well as a load and oil pressure display.

In comparison with the GTR 650 Avalanche, the engine of the Evo model needed no further improvement. The 3.6 liter Biturbo engine boasts 650 hp and impressive torque of 604 lbs-ft, already available to the driver at 4800 RPM. In comparison, the basic model Porsche 997 achieves maximum torque of 295 lbs-ft at 4600 RPM.

The sprint qualities of the GTR 650 Avalanche are in a class all their own. Thanks also to the short throw sport shifter and the special racing transmission, the 124 mph mark is hit in only 11.2 seconds. And any remaining doubt is left in the dust by the top speed: Acceleration of the GEMBALLA-Porsche stops at 208 mph, with the GTR EVO rear spoiler developing the optimum negative lift in the process.

A titanium connecting rod, an intake system specially developed by GEMBALLA, three intercoolers and a special turbo configuration ensure the durability of the engine. The Evo features an appropriately sized and constructed suspension and racing brakes. The specially calibrated racing suspension is equipped with reinforced axles and a set of stabilizers. On the front axle, stopping is accomplished by eight-piston saddles and 380 mm perforated disks, while the rear axle features four-piston saddles and 345 mm disks.

Gemballa Porsche Carrera Mirage GT 2007

Auto Car | Gemballa Porsche Carrera Mirage GT 2007 | Around 1500 of Porsche’s prestige product, the Carrera GT, have been built, all of which have now been sold. Owners worried about the individuality of their vehicle, in spite of its rareness, would be well-advised to make an appointment with Gemballa. Thanks to its expertise, as the only Porsche tuner Gemballa has comprehensively modified the high-tech car from Weissach, while at the same time adding an individual touch. In addition, performance addicts can obtain even more of what they want. The spectacular end product answers to the name of Gemballa Mirage GT and outshines its production-line counterpart in every respect.

The Carrera GT engine is a dream. A meaty 5.7-litre V10 boasting 612 horsepower. What more could one want? More power of course! Gemballa operates on the same principle as racing drivers: “You can never have too much power”.

By modifying the engine management electronics, Gemballa has been able to squeeze out a further 60 bhp of power and 15 lb-ft more torque for the V10, slicing off 0.1 seconds off the time it takes to go from 0 to 62 mph. The added performance has also been aided by a new, fully stainless steel exhaust system that now resounds through four tail pipes instead of the standard two. Gemballa has positioned the two extra tail pipes where the reverse and fog warning lamps used to be. The tuning specialist has relocated the two lamps to beneath the rear diffuser.

With the Gemballa body, the Mirage GT looks like it is planning to enter the Le Mans 24-hour race. The most conspicuous change to the front are the additional air intakes on the new front spoiler. In addition, Gemballa embellished the component with a spoiler lip.

The bonnet has also been replaced. In the area between the wheel housing and door Gemballa has replaced the standard side panels with its own mudguards, with reshaped openings which blend harmoniously with the original design. Down below, new side skirts lend the vehicle a muscular line. They also come with a cooling vent for the breaks at the rear. One thing is certain! The racing look is enhanced by the new rear skirt, with its aerodynamically optimized mid section for more downforce on the rear axle.

The lion’s share of the extra downforce over the production-line vehicle is due to the mighty Gemballa rear wing that adorns the rear of the car. For better slowing, it comes with an brake-flap in the middle – like the kind seen on the Bugatti Veyron – which snaps up when the brakes are applied. The roof line of the Gemballa Mirage GT also starkly differs from the standard Carrera GT. The front section of an airbox has been integrated into the new Gemballa hardtop. This ends in an air duct that runs along the back of the tailgate installed by Gemballa and supplies the power-enhanced V10-engine with more air to breathe.

Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition 2009

Auto Car | Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition 2009 | Gemballa doesn't strike us as a company that would be easily deterred by minor details. Things like the end of a production run, for example. So while the Porsche Carrera GT may have finished its run, that doesn't mean the German exotic tuning house is about to stop having fun.
We initially reported on the latest Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition back in February, when details and images were scarce, but both have now emerged. As you'd expect from the name, the modified Carrera GT features a lot of carbon fiber trim, but unlike some other weave-clad tuner cars, the carbon on the latest Mirage isn't just for show: the aerodynamic elements aim to improve the car's performance by channeling airflow in and around the supercar's svelte shape to keep it breathing free and stuck to the tarmac.

Of course, Gemballa hasn't stopped there. Porsche's free-revving V10 has been tuned to produce 670 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the rocket-sled up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 208 mph. There's also an electro-hydraulic adjustable suspension to keep that carbon fiber lip spoiler clear of curbs and speed bumps. The package costs just shy of 300,000 euros ($425k), which doesn't include the cost of the donor car, and production will be limited to just five examples, which may keep moneyed Porschephiles satiated until the rumored roadgoing RS Spyder hits the road. Details in the press release after the jump and photos in the high-resolution image gallery below.

For more than 25 years, the automobile manufacturer GEMBALLA Automobiltechnik GmbH & Co. KG builds exclusive sports cars which are based on the Porsche model range. Thereby, the company under the management of the founder Uwe Gemballa always sets standards regarding engine performance, innovative automobile design and exclusive interior. This is impressively confirmed by numerous lap records on the most difficult race track of the world, the Nรผrburgring Nordschleife. And also by winning many awards such as the renowned "red dot design award". And last but not least by thrilled customers all over the world.

And also the latest super sports car - the GEMBALLA MIRAGE GT Carbon Edition - limited to only 5 pieces will conquer the motor sports hearts of its future owners in supersonic speed. Based on the Porsche Carrera GT the specialists from Leonberg near Stuttgart present an extremely attractive version of the MIRAGE GT. The eye-catching main evolutionary characteristic is the GEMBALLA body element production in carbon fibre. But that is not all: ultra-light aerodynamics components which have been optimised in the wind tunnel and a power engine with powerful 670 hp top performance render an impressive top speed of 335 km/h. A ground-breaking, hydraulic, height-adjustable coilover kit is especially adjusted to the GEMBALLA wheel-tyre combination GT SPORT Forged and this interplay provides perfect road handling. And also the interior is upgraded from the floor room to the roof lining. Perfectly processed and stylishly arranged leather and carbon turn every Mirage GT cockpit into an exclusive unique masterpiece.

Carbon - as far as the eye can see
Already the serial version of the Carrera GT presents itself with an abundance of ultra-light and high-strength carbon material. And GEMBALLA continues this trend in the MIRAGE GT Carbon Edition by using it as the main component of all body parts. Each single element of the GEMBALLA aerodynamics design is optimised in the wind tunnel, produced in perfect surface quality and accurately fitted into the automobile.

The core part of the newly designed MIRAGE GT front is the striking apron with the enhanced air inlets for an improved ventilation of the front coolers. In combination with the new front lip, GEMBALLA does not only achieve an aggressive look, but also generates additional downthrust. Also the front wings and the bonnet are replaced by proprietary development components. At the flanks, you find newly designed side skirts.

These calm down the air duct between the axles and send additional cooling air to the brake system through integrated passages. The new diffuser which is fitted into the new rear skirt stabilises the rear section at high speeds and in connection with the enlarged rear wing, it generates contact pressure at the rear axle. Further advancements are provided by the individually adjustable Gurney flap which is inserted in the wing profile. The body kit is perfected with the GEMBALLA roof channel as well as the air scoop of the engine compartment and the rear view camera casing.

Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS Porsche Cayenne 2009

Auto Car | Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS Porsche Cayenne 2009 | Now this is how tuning companies need to modify their cars. I’m so sick of seeing a “tuning company” take a Ferrari F430, add a rear wing, a tuned ECU, a new exhaust and some new wheels, charge $200,000 over base price, and call it their own creation. While you may not like the look of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo-based Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS, you can’t deny that they did this right.

So Gemballa, a Porsche tuning company located about 12 miles from the Porsche plant in Stuttgart, Germany, took the Cayenne and gave it one helluva makeover. The extreme styling makes the otherwise rather homely Cayenne look much more like sports car, and at the very least, stands out among a crowd. Nearly every body panel has been changed, and their replacements are made solely from carbon fiber, which helped significantly in their weight reduction of over 550 lbs. The body not only helps with styling and weight, but is a higher-than-usual contributor to better aerodynamics and engine cooling. Lightweight 22-inch forged wheels round out the exterior changes.

Not much in the Cayenne Turbo was untouched by Gemballa. They started off by adding a sport exhaust system, sport catalysers and racing headers, then increased the engine displacement to 5.0-liters. While they were in there, they added new forged pistons, special connecting rods, and racing turbochargers with an intercooler boasting a 90% larger cooling area than stock. These changes increased engine output to an incredible 750 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque. An SUV that can hit 62 mph from a stop in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of over 186 mph would be detrimental to the egos of owners of such supercars as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Audi R8. I mean a Porsche Cayenne beating a 911 Turbo off the line to 60 mph would be embarrassing, right?

Well, not exactly. When you have a vehicle like the Tornado 750 GTS, it looks (and surely sounds) so extreme, that you would expect it to be as fast as it is. In fact, Gemballa said themselves that their target goal was to get the Cayenne Turbo “away from the SUV and more to an uncompromising sports car.” I’d still rather have the slightly slower R8 or V8 Vantage (but not the 911 Turbo.)

Oh, we’re not done yet. Gemballa still has a few treats in the Tornado 750 GTS. Remember, this thing is still an SUV, so to make sure it doesn’t tip over around every corner, they’ve lowered it almost 3 inches to keep center of gravity low by fitting it with an adjustable coilover kit which has been heavily tweaked. For the brakes, Gemballa used massive 16.5-inch rotors, slowed by 6-piston calipers in the front, and slightly smaller equipment in the rear. Seriously, have you heard of anything using rotors that big?
Finally we get to the interior. All four passengers get sport seats, and rear passengers get extra support from the hand-holds in the center console. These are commonly known as “Oh-Shit Handles,” and ensure you don’t fly into the neighboring passenger during hard turns. The integrated information display shows driving data such as acceleration, cross-acceleration and deceleration Gs. They didn’t ignore comfort in the SUV completely – they’ve added rear-seat entertainment components, along with leather, carbon fiber, or aluminum trim.

Gemballa will only be producing 50 of these super-Cayennes at the extraordinarily high price of รข‚¬400,000. This ends up being about $524,600 USD at today’s exchange rate. But seriously, imagine driving this thing around and destroying supercars off the line. You know you want one.

Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera 2010

Auto Car | Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera 2010 | We’re used to Uwe Gemballa and the boys churning out Porsche Carrera GT special editions by the shed load, not to mention more than a handful of special edition Porsche Cayennes. Just this year we’ve had the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS – a madly powerful Porsche Cayenne with 750bhp – and the Gemballa Mirage GT Matt - a Carrera GT in Matt Black with 640bhp. And we have wondered how long Gemballa can keep turning out Carrera GT specials. After all, there were only 1270 Carrera GTs made, and it seems like Gemballa has made at least that many Gemballa Carrera GTs!

But there might be an answer to that quandary – turn your attention to the Porsche Panamera. Gemballa has just released preliminary details on the Gemballa Mistrale, a Porsche Panamera conversion which throws a bit of Gemballa madness at Stuttgart’s latest offering.

Details are still a bit limited – and we don’t have any info yet on what Gemballa has done with the oily bits – but we do have the picture you see here, which shows the cosmetic stuff. Gemballa has had a play with the front and rear of the Panamera to give the car a more 911 feel. The front bumper is completely new, with a carbon fibre lip integrated in to the front skirt to increase downforce and improve handling, and large cooling slits help ventilation for the brakes and engine.

The rear bumper changes are integrated in to the original bumper, with an integrated rear diffuser with room for the quad tailpipes of the stainless steel system. Big air outlets on both sides of the rear skirt channel heat out of the brakes. The bonnet also gets reworked, with air outlets added. The package is finished off with a set of ultra light 22″ alloys, which lower the unsprung mass and optimise handling.
