These will act as symbolic “bearers” of a specially commissioned relay baton adorned with 60 badges symbolising the most extraordinary events in the Marque’s 60-year history.Abu Dhabi was chosen as the start point for the relay – which after the Middle East makes its way across China, Japan, Australia, South Africa, America and the whole of Europe – as a result of plans to build a major Ferrari theme park plus a motor racing circuit on the island of Yas in the most rapidly developing area of the Emirates’ capital.



Having left Abu Dhabi, the protagonists of the first leg of the relay headed for Dubai from where they will drive on to Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. The marathon relay will end at Maranello on June 23rd. The participants in the tour will be received at the various Italian embassies in the countries they pass through en route to Maranello. Also on June 16th, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will host a special ceremony at the Palazzo della Farnesina in Rome during which there will be a charity auction by Ferrari, the proceeds of which will be donated to needy children.



The relay was officially started by Piero Ferrari, Vice President of Ferrari and son of founder Enzo Ferrari. By recalibrating the series ECU, the Diesel generates 165 kW/225 bhp at 4000 rpm, the torque being a solid 510 Nm even at 1900 rpm. Following the modification, the 4.4 liter naturally aspirated engine generates an impressive 238 kW/323 bhp at 5500 rpm and 450 Nm at 4000 rpm. Look out export customers - the HAMANN SPORTKIT for the series V8 supercharged engine turns the Range Rover Sport into a real racer! To achieve the power boost to 349 kW/475 bhp at 5740 rpm and the maximum torque of 610 Nm at 3500 rpm, a number of tuning measures are required. In addition to optimized characteristic maps, HAMANN modifies the supercharger ratio and installs a sports high-performance header, sports metal catalytic converters and a sports rear muffler.



The latter emphasizes the sound of the newly acquired power. HAMANN offers the 4-pipe sports rear muffler with round stainless steel tailpipes (diameter 90 mm each) also independently of the power boost for all V8 engine configurations. For the 4.4i V8, a sports high-performance header and sports metal catalytic converters are also available (both exclusively for export).



Breite „Conqueror"-Optik Otherwise committed to the British sense of understatement, when equipped with its new aerodynamic body kit, the HAMANN Range Rover Sport speaks a different language. The Laupheim car customizer fits the PG3 wheel, a composite rim, in the ‘Silver' edition with a high-gloss varnished rim flange. The large 10.5x22 rim with a sporty five-spoke design is available from HAMANN also as a complete set of wheels fitted with tires in the dimension 295/30 ZR22 103W Hankook Ventus ST or 315/30 ZR22.



The ANNIVERSARY I is a single-piece rim with a multi-spoke design which conveys a sense of lightness of foot. HAMANN supplies them in the ‘Silver' edition with an INOX stainless steel lip adorning the flange. It is possible to fit this rim with the same tire sizes as the PG3. A performance optimization for the diesel model, progressive chassis springs and a newly-developed braking system round out the racy appearance and provide a speedy joyride.

 

The design wheel HM sportivo I stands for trendy mobile appearance and perfect handling. The matt black varnish rim in one piece has a diamond-polished outer edge and is offered in the size 7.0 x 17. HAMANN recommends matching tyres in the sizes 195/40 ZR17 or 215/34 ZR 17 by its technology partner Hankook. A complete wheel-set can be obtained from 1,420 €. The HAMANN-set for lowering chassis leads to a further improvement in handling the car and ensures that the vehicle centre which is made up from four progressively spun springs is lowered by 30mm.

The sport exhaust system which was especially devised for the 1,4 litre petrol car renders a thrilling sonorous sound. The system includes a muffler (from 390 € onwards) with two round end pipes made of high-grade steel (70 mm diameter), a pre-muffler with metal catalyst and a sport fan manifold. All components can also be obtained individually. Also for this model, HAMANN developed a stable sport braking system for improved deceleration values. The set consists of two perforated and ventilated brake discs (diameter 280 x 28mm) at the front axle in connection with red 4-piston fixed yokes and steal flex brake lines. The back axle can be upgraded with brake discs measuring 240 mm in diameter.

 

The increased performance by HAMANN costs 699 € for the 1,3 Multijet 16V Fiat 500 diesel model. After re-programming the integrated control unit, the motor renders up to 90 hp / 66 kW at 4,000 r.p.m. (series: 75 hp / 55 KW) and a maximum torque of 230 Nm at 1,750 r.p.m. (series: 145 Nm at 1,500 r.p.m.).

Auto Car | Hamann Largo Fiat 500 2010 | The Fiat 500 Abarth has certainly caught the attention of the tuning world in Europe. Making its world premiere at the '09 IAA in Frankfurt, the Hamann Largo is one of the most impressive tuning proposals for the Fiat 500 Abarth yet, putting to shame the official 180HP+ Ferrari-badged Abarth 695 special with its heavily modified 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that makes a jaw-dropping 265 horsepower at 5,630 rpm and 348Nm pr 257 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. Pretty impressive if you consider that the base model makes a mere 135HP and 206Nm.



Hamann has yet to disclose performance figures, but we reckon that 265 ponies in a car the size and weight of the Fiat 500 should a spectacle worth seeing - don't know about driving though...
A sport exhaust system that includes an end muffler with four pipes, a pre-muffler with a metal catalyser and a sport manifold along with a high-performance brake system with internally ventilated brake discs and 4-piston callipers up front and optional 257mm discs at the rear, as well as a sport suspension that lowers the car's centre of gravity by up to 60 mm complete the list of performance mods.



True to Hamann's nature, the Largo features an aggressively styled bodykit with new fender extensions that broaden the car body by 30mm at the front and 35mm at the back, beefy side skirts, front and rear aprons and a diffuser at the back.

 

The Largo rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance sport tires measuring 215/35 ZR18 or optionally, 225/35 ZR18.
As for the interior, changes include but are not limited to, an aluminium pedal set, a door mat set and embroidered logos. Pricing and more details are to be announced at a later date.
