Citroen C-Buggy Concept in 2006

Auto Car | Citroen C-Buggy Concept in 2006 | These vehicles are designed with menggunakanrentang the most complete and modern in its history, Citroën will be present at the Madrid International Motor Show between May 25 and June 4, 2006. This vehicle concept is also Looking for a new sensation of space and architecture of this freedomThe two seater-very open to the outside world. They can take full advantage of the vehicle environment, because their field of vision blocked. Rather than conventional doors, C-Buggy features wide openings on the side of the body. The goal is to bring a new visual perspective of passengers, in direct contact with soil, so they can better understand its characteristics. These cut-outs on the sides of the body is also possible to integrate sills for easy vehicle access.

Essential on-board information is placed directly in the driver's line of vision, with fixed central controls on the steering wheel. The instrument cluster, of graphic modern design, groups the speedometer, rev counter, fuel gauge and indicator lights.A digital personal stereo, placed at the front of the gearbox console, is connected to loudspeakers positioned under the dashboard using Bluetooth technology. Passengers can thus listen to music on board or take it with them when they set out on their explorations.C-Buggy plays on contrasts. A first glance reveals several facets of its character. Although the look of its untreated metal bodywork brings to mind the shiny shell of an insect, the cabin, although minimalist, is astonishingly light, luxurious and functional. The acid yellow cockpit, with grained leather on the dashboard, inner side panels and seats, is a response to the smooth metal reflections of the bodywork.

Extensive studies were conducted on the exterior finish of the bodywork. The idea was for the metal to evolve with time, and to play on the sheen of the material through oxidisation of the metal.Compact and round, C-Buggy is powerful and reassuring, dynamic and friendly. Going straight to the essential, it creates an unusual complicity between man and machine, for the benefit of the driver.Citroën will be present at the Madrid International Motor Show between 25 May and 4 June 2006. The Citroën range, extending from the cheery C1 entry-level supermini to the prestigious C6 grand tourer, recently gained a number of new and varied vehicles. Although the new Jumper, a particularly versatile light commercial vehicle, will clearly rank among the stars of the show, the Marque is also displaying C-Triomphe, a new notchback sedan.

Unveiled in Madrid, C-Buggy is a fresh take on the leisure supermini. A small off-roader with a strong personality and original architecture, C-Buggy boasts a modern design of flowing lines. It is clearly a car in symbiosis with its environment.C-Buggy goes on show alongside C-AirPlay, unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show last year. The resemblance is clear, although C-Buggy is more of a fun, go-anywhere type of car. Through these vehicles, Citroën is demonstrating dynamic performance and creativity, based on coherent styling and values.Unveiled at the 2006 Madrid Motor Show, C-Buggy is a fresh take on the leisure supermini.

Citroen C-Metisse Concept in 2006

Auto Car | Citroen C-Metisse Concept in 2006 | C-Métisse proves that elegant design lines of C-Métisse that high-performance car can also be green, combining a top speed of 155mph with the ability to cover about 45 miles per gallon on cycle.Hal also boasts real driving sensations with a driving position featuring the technology latest, high-performance drivetrain and a specially designed diesel-Métisse hibrida.C not just a car to stir the soul penonton.Kejutan first is a back door on the vehicle is high-tech equipment perfectly matches the design of the driving position whose original central console is divided by five extension.

With its diesel hybrid technology, C-Métisse respects the environment. This is particularly true in the city in ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode – an “extended’”, completely silent all-electric mode with a range of around 3 km at 30 kph – as well as on roads demanding successive acceleration and deceleration. In this second case, the hybrid architecture makes it possible to limit consumption by using the two forms of energy together. On motorways, the V6 HDi diesel combustion engine with a DPFS (particulate filter) sets high standards of efficiency, based on its intrinsic qualities.By controlling fuel consumption and thus pollutant emissions, C- Métisse boasts combined cycle consumption levels of 6.5 l/100 km for CO² emissions of 174 g/km.

No sacrifices have been made in terms of driving pleasure, which remains a key priority for motorists. If the driver makes prolonged use of the accelerator pedal, the boost function kicks in to provide the immediate torque required. This function combines the torque of the combustion engine with that of the electric motors to endow C-Métisse with a level of performance worthy of a high-spec sports vehicle, without pushing up fuel consumption. C Métisse accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.2 seconds and takes 25.4 seconds to cover 1,000 m from a standing start.Rather than pursuing the quest for ever higher speeds that are not practicable in normal traffic conditions, the emphasis has been placed on driving pleasure with clean, fast acceleration. For example, C-Métisse accelerates from 80 to 120 kph in 4.2 seconds. Also, the vehicle remains in 4-wheel drive mode while the boost function is active, since the electric motors drive the rear wheels while the combustion engine drives the front wheels. Thus ensuring impeccable traction. Also, when the ESP sensors report low grip conditions, C-Métisse can activate its electric motors and thus adopt a 4-wheel drive configuration. The electric motors deliver improved traction and ensure full use of the potential of C-Métisse in all conditions and in complete safety.

Alongside the engine and motors, the drivetrain comprises a pack of high-voltage batteries supplying the electric motors. Positioned in the centre of the vehicle, the pack is recharged by the electric motors during deceleration phases, thus converting the vehicle’s kinetic energy into electric energy.
The drivetrain and braking control unit – the nerve centre of the system – automatically manages the energy configuration: transition from 2- to 4-wheel drive, energy recovery and recharging of batteries.Aerodynamics optimised to combine high standards of performance with respect for the environment.Special emphasis was placed on the aerodynamics and flowing design of C-Métisse, these being key Citroën values. The objective was to enhance the vehicle’s dynamics, road manners and performance while showing respect for the environment.Far from being a gratuitous styling exercise, the forms of C-Métisse combine visual appeal with dynamic efficiency. C-Métisse boasts a Cd of 0.30 obtained by its taut, flowing lines, as well as by a series of innovative features such as the enlarged air intakes at the front, the flat underside of the car, the two retractable rear airfoils and the rear fixed-fin spoiler. All these features play an active role in reducing aerodynamic drag and lift, thus pushing the car to the ground and improving roadholding.

Limited weight for performance and fuel economy.Particular efforts were made to reduce vehicle weight in order to achieve both performance and fuel economy. With its carbon body and carbon trellis supporting the powertrain and front axle, C-Métisse weighs just 1,400 kg, batteries included. A remarkable figure for a vehicle of this size. The architecture of the diesel hybrid powertrain also contributes to this result. The positioning of the electric motors in the rear wheels and the position of the battery pack in the centre of the vehicle distributes the weight perfectly between front and rear, for improved road behaviour.A car of astonishing style and equally astonishing performance with its diesel hybrid powerplant, C-Métisse combines the concept of ecology with automotive emotions and sensations. Through its ability to challenge received ideas, it illustrates an objective long pursued by Citroën: to develop vehicles that reflect the spirit of the times, without losing sight of the essential – driving pleasure.

Citroen C5 Airscape Concept 2007

Auto Car | Citroen C5 Airscape Concept 2007 | This car is designed to travel far enough, so that the designers make the C6-style concave rear window and sleek, aerodynamic profile help to communicate the Citroën C5 Airscape an exclusive status, while the distinctive exterior design is further enhanced by 19-inch alloys, large air intakes, twin chrome tailpipes and long sharp light.Citroen concept at the green lines, C5 Airscape featuring important and innovative technology.

Without question, one of the 4-seater C5 Airscape's defining characteristics is the automatically foldingtop. Complete with integrated sunroof and textile lining, this carbon-fibre roof resembles a canvas one, a feature so suggestive of up-market cabriolets. It opens to reveal a sumptuous interior of dark-brown leather and chrome, reflecting the refined and sophisticated nature of the car. The clean, sculpted lines of the dashboard sit alongside the stylish design of the instrument cluster and air vents, while Citroën's concept is also equipped with a new-style fixed centred controls steering wheel, incorporating touch-sensitive buttons enveloped in a thin membrane-like covering. The latest in a line of green Citroën concepts, the C5 Airscape showcases important and innovative technology. Fuel economy is managed by an 'UrbanHybrid' system that includes a reversible alternator-starter and super capacitors. This system allows onboard equipment, such as the air conditioning or audio system, to be powered by energy recovered during braking and deceleration, while engine torque can be temporarily boosted when required.

The 'UrbanHybrid' system, which helps reduce CO2 emissions by 24g/km on the combined cycle, also switches off the engine when the vehicle is at standstill, before starting it again instantly once the accelerator is pressed. The fitting of a refined, bio-diesel compliant 208bhp 2.7HDi V6 engine, complete with particulate filter, further minimises any impact on the environment.Helping the C5 Airscape to deliver levels of performance similar to those of a four-wheel drive car, a further technological advancement sees the introduction of a new 'Snow Motion' traction control system that provides enhanced driving safety in low-grip conditions.

Citroen C-Cactus Concept 2007

Auto Car | Citroen C-Cactus Concept 2007 | C-Cactus is an ecological car. At the same time, the C-Cactus is no more expensive than mid-range family car. Economic and ingenious solutions adopted for C-Cactus keep production costs down and allows it to fit a diesel hybrid drivetrain, all for the price of an entry-level.C C4-Cactus is also an original and ingenious car on the inside. Cut-out design, choice of materials, patterns and colors give the cabin a minimalist look, attractive and roomy.

C-Cactus has a unique personality: appealing, modern and offbeat, with its simple shapes and mix of round, curving lines. The original styling also reflects ingenious design choices. Throughout the design process, the focus was very much on simplicity. This led to the development of ingenious solutions that contribute to the attractive offbeat design of C-Cactus.At the front, the headlamps of C-Cactus give the vehicle an appealing air with their rounded and slightly angular forms. They are underlined by two cylindrical air intakes cut out of the bumper, above an air intake grille of modern design which, while contributing to the vehicle's rounded forms, also adds a muscular energetic touch. The raised bonnet and two air intakes also contribute to the dynamic looks of C Cactus.

The vehicle's rounded forms are reflected in its profile. The dynamic design lines are accentuated by the forward flowing roof line and the asymmetric doors made of crude steel that has been treated for corrosion. The doors feature an original cut-out since the fixed windows remove a number of the constraints that usually apply to design. Shaped to provide easy access to the interior, they give C-Cactus a curving, sleekly muscled appearance. The use of crude steel treated for corrosion, but without paint or varnish, contributes to savings in production costs while giving a strong, contemporary look.

The high waistline and 21-inch wheels also underline the strong character of C Cactus. The wheels were the focus of particular attention. Large-diameter wheels and low-profile tyres have become key styling features in vehicles of strong, contemporary design. Citroën worked with Michelin on the development of low-profile tyres with a large diameter and limited width. The low ground friction area limits fuel consumption and, at the same time, tyre production costs are kept under control since the manufacturing process requires only a small amount of rubber. For new and even more original styling, these specially designed tyres feature a green pattern on a white background printed inside a wide groove spanning the entire tread.

The same styling codes can be seen at the rear, where a combination of curves and taut lines illustrate the car's dynamic and appealing personality. The chevrons identify this car as a Citroën. The name "Cactus" appears in relief on the bottom of the tailgate, in a young, smooth, modern printface. The rear lights, which resemble the headlamps in shape, boast an innovative feature: cut-outs in the interior plastic that let the driver see through. This innovation considerably increases the driver's field of vision and may be particularly useful in manoeuvres, for example.Fewer features for greater impact: a welcoming, attractive and cleverly designed interiorC-Cactus is also an original and ingenious car on the inside. The design cut-outs, choice of materials, patterns and colours give the cabin a minimalist, attractive and airy look.

Citroen 2CV Concept Design by David Portela 2008

Auto Car | Citroen 2CV Concept Design by David Portela 2008 |cars are designed with tin models like the MINI, personalization will be a big part of the appeal 2CV, with a contrasting body color trim panel chair and full-length sunroof option.citroen car while the other will be positioned above the Citroen C3 range, and will carry a premium price.

I've never been the biggest fan of the original, however it's always nice to see a classic being reborn.Unfortunately, this is what he had come up with;
The original was never a beautiful car, but thats just something else...Luckily, Auto Express also had an article on a new 2CV, which was much more promising.Quote:
Here's proof that Citroen is set to come out of its shell when it comes to car design - because the 'tin snail' is back! These pictures show how a successor to the 2CV is shaping up. Boasting a thoroughly modern interpretation of the classic design, it has its eyes on the lucrative family car market.Based on insider information, our pictures show what you have to look forward to. Taking over where the Evoque concept car of 2005 left off (Issue 865) the shape is instantly recognisable and couldn't be confused with anything else.
As Fiat has done with the 500 and VW with the Beetle, Citroen has followed the current trend for reinventing classic models. By cashing in on the charm of the original 2CV, the French firm is set to launch into uncharted territory - going up against prestige models such as BMW's MINI. With the same curved bonnet, slab sides and covered rear wheels, it looks just like the original 2CV, which first appeared in 1948.Trademark details such as the slatted bonnet and double chevron grille remain intact. But with flush-fitting windows and faired-in lights, the shape has been given a modern update. It promises to be extremely eco-friendly, too. With car firms ever more concerned about their impact on the environment, the 2CV will be a showcase for Citroen's green technology. It's likely to be made from plastic body panels, and with power coming from a hybrid diesel engine (see below), it should boast low fuel consumption and emissions.

As with the exterior, the cabin will draw on its famous predecessor with a minimalist look. A large, thin-rimmed steering wheel dominates the interior, while the fixed central hub contains controls for the stereo. There will also be a retro speedometer, and as with the original car, the gearlever will be mounted in the centre of the dashboard. However, while the 2CV was designed to be cheap and cheerful, the newcomer will feature lots of hi-tech kit as standard, including sat-nav and connectivity for the latest handheld gadgets. As with the MINI, personalisation will be a big part of the 2CV's appeal, with contrasting body panel colours, seat trims and the option of a full-length sunroof. It's possible the Citroen could feature panoramic glass, as well as a removable canvas top.Under the skin, the 2CV is likely to use platform architecture from the C3 supermini and C4 hatch, featuring a front-wheel-drive layout and a comfortable driving experience.

The design was objectively guided by the motivation to win.The dashboard, with its clean uncluttered design, flows into the receding lines of an imposing copper sculpture. The thrusting modern lines of the sculpture become the central tunnel of the vehicle, illustrating the power of GTbyCITRON and appearing to catalyse its strength.Created in a twist of this same copper sculpture, the leather-and-steel steering wheel also reflects the sporting spirit of the cabin. To promote maximum concentration, the driver of GTbyCITRON has a head-up display for driving information. Using red LEDs, this system projects key driving information such as speed and navigation data onto the windscreen in the driver's direct line of vision. The head-up display makes a significant contribution to safety with its direct read-out. Auto Car | Citroen DS High Rider Concept 2010 | Just 4.26m long, 1.82m wide & 1.48m high, Citroën DS High Rider Concept combines a neat and nimble chassis, for responsive handling, with intelligent design architecture that provides occupants with a generous amount of internal space. Its character is expressed in its unique driving sensations, with a sleek flowing windscreen that soars over the heads of front occupants - hinting at a bright and spacious cabin environment. The apparently continuous glazed area of the side windows connects the A-pillars to the gently sloping roof line of the rear.Without denying the appeal of conventional coupés, Citroën DS High Rider Concept represents a bold and radical vision of the future, combining compact dimensions with generous internal volumes, dynamic performance, sophisticated style and consummate quality.Unlike traditional 4-seater coupés, with their long, low design, the Citroën DS High Rider Concept is compact and muscular.

Citroen created a stir in February 2009 with the announcement of a new line of distinctive products, the DS line. The new line-up reflected one of the facets of what is a true reinvention of the Marque, symbolised in its new tagline, “Créative Technologie”. Rounding out the main CITROËN range, the DS line features products with more radical design choices aimed at customers looking for stand-out styling, architecture, driving feel and refinement.Just one year after this major event, and with the DS3 now on show in CITROËN showrooms, the Marque is taking a new step in the evocation of the DS line with the DS High Rider. The new concept car embodies a contemporary vision of dynamics with compact design as a fundamental value. It opens the way to new vehicle uses, new motoring pleasure, and an innovative technological approach founded on a Full Hybrid 4 drivetrain.

The DS line moves forward into a new universe
With DS High Rider, Citroen is clearly remaining faithful to the philosophy behind the DS line, namely products with bold choices in terms both of styling and architecture.Without reneging on the charms of conventional coupés, CITROEN has discovered new ways of expressing automotive vitality with this new creation – less restrictive and exclusive and more adapted to today’s driving conditions, while boasting a renewed sense of driving pleasure.Unlike regular 4-seater coupés that are long and low-slung, DS High Rider places the emphasis on muscular compact design. The body styling combined with the height of the car underline the compactness of the whole, in turn strengthening the dynamic feel.Behind the wheel, this promise of vitality is delivered in the shape of a unique driving experience based on a blend of the following:
• a windscreen that stretches far back into the roof,
• a passenger-focused interior architecture of the highest standards,
• running gear that benefits from all the Marque’s expertise in driving sensations and standard-setting ride comfort.Citroën has released first details on the striking Citroën DS High Rider Concept that will be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It is the second concept associated with Citroën's innovative and distinctively styled DS line.Planted firmly on stylish 19" alloy wheels and beautifully in proportion, Citroën DS High Rider Concept's confident profile is characterised by its high waistline. Its front end is purposeful with gaping air intakes, long incisive headlights and defined ridges along the bonnet.Citroën DS High Rider Concept is an expression of automotive luxury and elegance - exemplified by its glossy golden paintwork and brushed chrome trim that accentuate the car's flowing lines. The roof is covered with a coated textile material - a tactile feature of quality.

Citroën DS High Rider Concept's ability to rise above conventional design constraints is also reflected in its choice of power. Offering an enjoyable driving experience with dynamic on-road performance, Citroën DS High Rider Concept is respectful of the environment with an advanced 'Full Hybrid' diesel drivetrain that combines a refined HDi DPFS engine under the bonnet with an electric motor located on the rear axle. The hybrid platform enables Citroën DS High Rider Concept to combine the fuel efficiency and power of an HDi diesel engine with the ecological benefits of a new generation electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle). Under certain conditions, both engines combine to deliver additional power with additional torque transmitted to the rear wheels.

Living up to its name, however, REVOLTE has set its sights higher. This concept car takes a highly contemporary approach. It shares some of the characteristics of executive vehicles but, at the same time, it transgresses the codes of the luxury world as we know them to include references that are far removed from those usually associated with cars.Far more than just a small, functional vehicle, REVOLTE is a high-spirited performer. Its character is illustrated by its size (3.68 m long, 1.73 m wide and 1.35 m tall), and also by its bodywork which shuns the strict, austere codes of conventional luxury to drape itself in an intense and radiant shade of violent.
A low-set vehicle sitting squarely on its four wheels, REVOLTE makes light work of urban driving. An impression confirmed by its proportions. With its strongly marked wheel arches, curving bonnet, and sculpted sides matching the line of the roof, REVOLTE is sleekly muscled and ready to pounce.

The rear-hinged doors provide easy access to the cabin, revealing a multicoloured interior that resembles a box of make-up. This unusual idea of associating bright colours with luxury styling reflects Citroën's bold creativity. Like the Hypnos concept car before it, REVOLTE reflects efforts to modernise the traditional notions of luxury.
The main materials featured in the cabin are: woven black leather, thick crimson velvet and gleaming aluminium. Out go conventional materials such as wood, and conventional colours. The onboard ambience of REVOLTE aims for a bold but luxurious feel.REVOLTE also dares a three-seater cabin design, designed to resemble a lounge with seats similar to those found in home furnishings.
The passenger area includes a meridian sofa of contemporary design whose flowing lines cover the entire rear area of REVOLTE as well as the space usually reserved for the front passenger. The passenger sitting in this last space can stretch out his or her legs and enjoy the sensations offered by the cosy, luxurious ambience.
It is also possible to install a rearward-facing childseat.
REVOLTE thus boasts an architecture never before seen on this type of vehicle, with original and distinctive forms.
REVOLTE: intelligent technology in action

REVOLTE's approach to innovation reflects its standpoint on luxury. The two are clearly indissociable. It is difficult to see whether the luxury of the vehicle inspired its high-tech content or if the technology is a medium for the luxurious design. REVOLTE immediately subjugates onlookers. Inside, technology and luxury form an ideal match, as illustrated by the following:- the tactile screen of REVOLTE is encased in a crystal beam. The superbly crafted deep red crystals literally project the tactile screen into the cabin for an eloquent and original effect. This is not their only function, since they also serve to recycle air on board REVOLTE, like a respiratory system;- chic and elegant, the rear bench of REVOLTE is not only a brilliant demonstration of style. It also houses the concept car's electric batteries. This clever stowage solution improves the look of the cabin as a whole;- on the outside, the bonnet of the car is covered in photovoltaic cells carrying out the electric functions linked to onboard comfort, including when the vehicle is stationary. This makes it unnecessary to use the resources of the electric batteries;

- at the front of REVOLTE, the observer's eye is drawn to a curved glass shape underlining the generous lines of the grille. The backlit translucent bottom of the glass brings out the chevrons to original effect, subtly identifying the concept car as a Citroën vehicle. The powertrain of REVOLTE also shares the concept car philosophy, in terms of technology, sophistication and ecology.
REVOLTE, a modern activist
The powertrain of REVOLTE shatters the view traditionally associating "small" with "basic". The contemporary, sophisticated character of REVOLTE is also reflected in its powertrain, which has the future clearly in its sights.Striking a distinctive note in the automotive industry's ongoing quest for "all-electric" solutions, REVOLTE features a solution that is both exciting and credible: a rechargeable hybrid drivetrain.
