Auto Car | KAMAZ trucks with new style | In the course of September, the KAMAZ scientific and technical centre is to produce an experimental quantity of trucks with a restyled cab.
The vehicles with a new style and cab equipment were first presented in Russia and Ukraine at the beginning of summer and drew special interest of potential buyers, because of which KAMAZ plans to launch their serial production until the end of the year as well.
The modernized vehicles include the KAMAZ-5460 (on upper photo) truck tractor for intercity and international transport, the cross-country KAMAZ-65222 dump truck with single wheels designed for transportation of various bulk and construction cargoes on hard-surface roads and under cross-country conditions, the popular KAMAZ-6520 dump trucks and KAMAZ-65115, with oval platforms, equipped with a heating exhaust system. The KAMAZ-5308 vehicle, intended for urban, suburban and interurban transportation of various big loads on public roads with an axle payload of 10 tonnes, also acquired a new look.
These vehicles are adjusted for installation in state-of-the-art engines and equipment wherewith they will be able to receive Euro III ad Euro IV certificates.
According to unconfirmed reports, KAMAZ has so far given up its plans to produce in its plants cabs for the second generation Mercedes-Benz Actros truck, which was envisaged by an agreement on strategic partnership with Daimler signed at the end of last year.
