2008 IMSA Audi RS 6

Auto Car | 2008 IMSA Audi RS 6 | Beginning with the exterior, IMSA designers filled the bold flared fenders with center-locking 20 in. Challenge wheels. Complementing the wider stance is a revised suspension calibration of Audi’s advanced Dynamic Ride Control system. Together, the lower, wider track gives the car an even more menacing demeanor.

IMSA Tuning usually focus their efforts on the Lamborghini but in a rare shift to the mellow side they have taken on the Audi RS6 with this new performance package.

Power output of the stock 5.0-liter V10 engine rises from 580hp up to a respectable 650hp and 745Nm of torque, further complimented with a stainless steel exhaust system. A ride-lowering suspension system hugs the model to the road and a set of 20 inch wheels featuring a central locking system that is usually saved for just the Lambo range provides the grip that the additional performance will require.

The upgrades result a 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds down from 4.6 seconds on the regular Avant model and it reaches 200km/h in 13.8 second

With their extensive knowledge of complete Lamborghini performance engine rebuilds, the same type of treatment goes for the Audi, right? Well, not exactly (for this time around, anyway). Engineers over at Bruggen added only a free flowing stainless steel exhaust to the potent 580-hp V-10 powerplant. All told, the IMSA RS 6 makes a whopping 650 horses and 550 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power to rocket the wagon to 62 mph in less than 4.2 sec.

Although not stated by IMSA, we’re guessing some more horses were bred by way of a new ECU or intake system. Compared to the MTM’s and ABT Sportline’s 700-plus horsepower, Ferrari beating uber machines we previously covered, IMSA’s carefully crafted tuning schedule seems fairly civilized. But then again, the Audi RS 6 isn’t exactly tame to begin with.

More mods from IMSA, the self-proclaimed Audi-mobili Lamborghini tuner, are said to be in the works, and given the tuner’s track record, we can’t wait to see what’s nex

The body kit has been built from carbon fibre, the trim can be adjusted in eight different positions. The tuned-up Gallardo has a new electronics system and titanium exhaust, increasing power to 584 hp and torque to 560 Nm.

A widening of the wheel base was necessary to house the new alloy wheels, centrally mounted and measuring 9×20″ at the front, shod 245/30; and 12,5×20″ at the rear shod in 325/25. New interior features include monocoque carbon fibre seats, and plenty of further use of this material in the finishings.

Only very recently, the new Gallardo LP 560 appeared on the world stage of automobiles – and it has already been fitted out by the Lamborghini tuning company IMSA.

From now on, the well-proven IMSA Challenge lightweight central locking rim can be ordered and fitted to the new Gallardo. Not only does the Challenge wheel offer a perfect visual impression, but with its equipment’s properties it is also capable of convincing professional and sportsmanlike drivers – especially if combined with the IMSA sports chassis which is adjustable in height and intensity.

With the stainless steel exhaust system, IMSA presents yet another highlight. The visual attraction at the LP 560’s rear end coddles the driver with acoustic delights and, by the way, increases the performance by 24hp – electronic adjustment inclusive.

A rear spoiler made of high-quality carbon fibre is the crown of functionality and design on top of the package so far available for the LP 560.

This package should convince you even by now and will certainly inspire quite a number of Gallardo owners to make a pilgrimage to the holy halls of IMSA.

2008 IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR

Auto Car | 2008 IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR | IMSA, car tuner from Germany, has produced the IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR which is based on the Murcielago LP640.

The design package or kit are made of Autoklav moulded carbon fiber, a technology used normally in Formula 1. The package consists of new front apron/spoiler, widened wheels arches by 35 mm on each side, IMSA CFK air ducts which reduces drag effect caused by non-aerodynamic airflow, IMSA side skirts which guarantee optimum airflow to the IMSA diffuser and IMSA rear spoiler.

All IMSA aerodynamic kits are either available in carbon-onsight or can be painted in any color of choice. Other features of the IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR are IMSA multi-part sports wheels with central locking system, various sports chassis with individual settings and various IMSA engine modifications and own engines.

Special emphasis must be laid on the technology- and design-package made from Autoklav moulded carbon fibre. Technology which is normally only being used in Formula 1 and other Top-motorsports Series. Imsas main target was, for all owners of the Lamborghini top-of-the-range-model, to offer an exclusive product line, transforming the Murcielago both technically and optically into a unique work of art, with the aim of significantly enhancing the exclusivity of Lamborghinis Top-model.

The strikingly aggressive and aerodynamically highly effective front apron (spoiler) perfectly aligned to the wheel arches (widened 35mm on each side), directly becomes apparent. On the upper side of the wheel arches, imsa CFK air ducts have been integrated, resulting in a significant reduction of the drag effect caused by non-aerodynamic airflow at higher and highest velocity. The imsa side-skirts on the underside guarantee the optimum airflow to the imsa diffuser, which has been developed for an aerodynamically perfect interaction with the imsa rear spoiler. Imsa herewith achieved to considerably lower the downforce at higher and highest speeds. The benefits for the driver are a significant enhancement of driving stability, safety and enjoyment.

All parts of the imsa-aerodynamic-enhancement program are either available in carbon-onsight or can be painted in any colour of choice. The imsa aerodynamic-enhancement-program is available from November 2007 on and will soon be available for the standard Murcielago as well. The imsa technical enhancement program also includes exactly as for the imsa GTV Supercar based on the Lamborghini Gallardo exclusive imsa multi-part sports wheels with central locking system, various sports chassis with individual settings, and, last but not least, various imsa engine modifications and own engines. At imsa, each customer is fully involved in the creation of his personal, unique imsa-Megacar handcrafted according to highest German standards of quality and precision. Additionally, personalised tailor-made interiors inclusive of various multi-media applications are also being fitted on special request.

Customers will also be fully involve in the creation of its own supercar at IMSA including the customized interior.

2009 IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago Spyder

Auto Car | 2009 IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago Spyder | A Murcielago Spyder with 640 hp is certainly not a slow car. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds, and you may count on a peak speed of about 340 km/h. Can this be further improved? Yes!

Horsepower multiplicator IMSA from Brüggen offers an engine conversion kit for the convertible which raises the super-bull's performance beyond the 700 hp limit by means of several mechanical and electronic modifications.

To be more precise, we are talking about 708 hp.

Therefore, those who know how to use the gears and the accelerator well will be catapulted from 0 to 100 in less than 3.3 seconds and may ruin their hairstyle at a peak speed somewhere beyond 350 km/h.

Whatever the condition, the IMSA Murcielago is damned fast - and it won't be easy to find an equal competitor for acceleration duels.

But, this car has more to offer than raw power and pure speed. IMSA has redesigned the interior completely in order to meet highest standards of raciness and luxury: carbon intarsia in the same colour as the car, finest diamond-shape stitched leather design and seams corresponding to the exterior colour.

The exterior has undergone considerable changes as well. To begin with, there are the IMSA Ultimo Wheels in shiny black with a genuine central locking system.

Then, there is the GTR Widebody Kit consisting of a front apron, front lip, broadened wings, side skirts, carbon diffuser, rear spoiler, attachments improving the cooling air supply and ventilation louvres made of the aforementioned black gold at the front bumper - and, finally, there is the sports exhaust system provided with a tailpipe corresponding to the series production design. Of course, if you wish, there are also other designs available for the tailpipe. But, the cherry on top is the sports exhaust system's flap control which is operated by a remote control from the passenger compartment. The sound range is from "city limit decent" to "racetrack awesome".

Thus, the IMSA Murcielago Spyder is not only one of the most powerful sports convertibles on our roads, but also one of the most beautiful, luxurious, spectacular and - at the push of a button - one of the most resonant.

2010 IMSA Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 GTV

Auto Car | 2010 IMSA Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 GTV | Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560 was introduced at Geneva Motor Show in 2008. For a year the car proved that it is a real monster on the road. It became one the most exclusive cars of our time. Gallardo LP560 is not just a fast sports car, it is a real master piece.

The upgrades don’t finish with exterior package, IMSA GTV gets stainless steel sports exhaust system, which produces amazing sound at 9000 revs and boosts the engine to 590PS. The maximum torque is increased to 560N/m at 6000rpm.

The new Gallardo LP 560 has only just seen the light of the world automobile stage. The result is one of the most exclusive cars of our time; one that presents a perfect symbiosis between extravagant design and driving performance and capability at sports car level. For the Gallardo LP 560-4 the German Lamborghini specialists have once more taken the speedy Italian car and created a masterpiece on wheels in accordance with the IMSA company philosophy.

For the Gallardo LP 560-4 the IMSA engineers had to take the special chassis from the GTV's well known predecessor and completely reconstruct it. Thus the chassis modifications now include a front skirt, widened wheel housing for front and rear, sideskirts, a rear skirt as well as special rear spoiler that ensures greater output. All the parts are made of high quality carbon fibre which normally can only be found in professional motor sports or in air travel and which despite its low weight has a convincing stability. Because of its superb technical specifications the IMSA GTV is capable of combing sportiness with an exclusive appearance at the highest level.

The same can, of course, also be said for the already internationally established lightweight central locking wheel, IMSA Challenge, which is mounted on the front axle with dimensions of 9J x 20 (with 245/30 ZR20 sized tyres) and on the rear axle with dimensions of 12,5J x 20 (with 325/25 ZR20 sized tyres). The IMSA exclusive wheel is not only visually an eye-opener but it also convinces the ambitious driver with its technical characteristics - especially when combined with the very complex traction and compression phase as well as with its height adjustable IMSA sports suspension.

The highly polished IMSA stainless steel sports exhaust system can naturally not be left out of this Gourmet menu. The optical delicacy on the rear of the LP 560 spoils the driver with a really deafening V10 symphony and increases its performance to a sensational 590 PS at 9000U/min thanks to the perfected exhaust gas routing and the connected back pressure reduction.

The interior is slightly changed, too. IMSA Gallardo LP 560-4 GTV gets exclusive IMSA bucket seats made of carbon fibre. Besides the seats the carbon is used all over for elements in the cockpit to complete the convincing look of the car, not only outside, but inside, too. The cherry of the cake is IMSA sports driving wheel finished off with IMSA leather and/or Alcantara interior in GTV design
