Auto Car | 2010 Saleen Ford Mustang S281 | It’s the most wonderful time of the year again.  No, not Christmas….the SEMA show that happens once a year.  This is where the big names of the aftermarket tuning world get together to showcase their finest.  And no name is more synonymous with Mustang tuning than Saleen.

This year Saleen introduced their version of the 2010 Ford Mustang at the glorious SEMA Show.  Dubbed the S281 due to the engine’s 281 cubic inch displacement, this Mustang sports a Supercharged V-8 engine that pushes out a pavement pounding 485 horsepower.  This is a nice 150HP bump over the stock Mustang GT.

A couple of other cool features of the Saleen S281 are a Saleen Racecraft Coilover suspension, larger brakes, some huge rims, and a body kit.  A cool power dome hood delivers fresh air to the supercharger; the front gets a more aggressive look in the form of a revised grille and aggressive fascia.

The S281 does not over look the interior to complete the driving experience. With leather and suede seats accented with a clean simple stitching that is carried throughout the car.  The race inspired instrument panel is sporty yet luxurious, enhancing the driving experience.

Saleen continues to produce probably the most popular tuned Mustang on the market.  Their winning recipe for success includes big supercharged horsepower and some ingenious body pieces.

Legendary Mustang tuner Saleen has introduced yet another pumped-up version of Ford's venerable pony car. The 2010 Ford Saleen Mustang S281 features a supercharged 4.6-liter V-8 that produces 485 horsepower, a bump of more than 150 horses over stock. The 281 refers to the engine's displacement in cubic inches.

In addition to the more robust powerplant, the S281 features bodywork enhancements that include a new hood with a power dome/scoop that accommodates the supercharger, a revised grille, more aggressive front fascia and covers for the quarter windows. The S281 also features a sport-tuned suspension, beefed-up brakes and larger wheels and tires. Saleen says the upgrades are good for a 0–60 time of less than 6 seconds.
