Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announces today that it will launch the Lancer Evolution X high-performance 4WD sedan, newest of the company's legendary vehicles, on October 1 at dealerships throughout Japan. Featuring a new platform, engine, and exterior and interior designs, the totally redesigned 2.0-liter model will carry a tax-inclusive price tag ranging from \2,997,750 to \3,750,600. Models fitted with the Twin Clutch SST transmission are due to be launched towards the end of November.

The development goal for the new Lancer Evolution X was to make the car as fast as possible, while also making it as safe to drive as possible. To that end Lancer Evolution X is loaded with the very latest in automotive engineering technology, including the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics control system and the newly developed, power-efficient Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission). Lancer Evolution X is a new-generation high-performance 4WD sedan that allows a new category of driver access to Mitsubishi's dynamic driving experience by underpinning speed with control, security and safety.

* Lancer Evolution X's handsome and aggressive functional design presents an intimidating and exciting aerodynamic exterior suggestive of its superior road performance. 2009 Mitsubishi i-Miev Sport Air Concept

It’s called the iMiEV Sport Air, and features a gloopy teardrop shape for better aerodynamics. There’s also a smattering of solar cells at the bottom of the windscreen. The concept is called the Air because it has a removable glass roof too.

The electric motor in the i-MiEV Sport Air Concept is rated at 80hp (60kW) and 170lb-ft (230Nm) but the torquey powerplant isn’t the vehicle’s only performance aspect. To lower the center of gravity and increase driving stability the main EV system components (battery module, inverter, battery charger) are located as low as possible. The body structure also uses plastic panels to reduce weight around the rear axle where the powertrain and EV system components are installed and thereby achieve an ideal 50:50 front/rear weight distribution

Based on the mid-engined, rear-wheel drive electric version of the i MiEV tiny city car, Mitsubishi’s Sport Air Concept is a further development of the homonymous 2007 Tokyo Auto Salon show car. The i MiEV Sport Air uses a more powerful version of Mitsubishi’s permanent magnet synchronous electric motor generating 60 kW or 80HP of power (vs. the i MiEV’s 47 kW or 63HP) and 230 Nm of torque (180 Nm.)

To the team of Ugur Sahin Design the Corvette C6 rolling chassis presented itself as the ideal platform to start working from. The chassis has proven to be an extremely competitive package on the public roads and even more so on the circuits with the Le Mans victories as best proof of the competence of the C6 Corvette.

With the Corvette Z03 project the 24 year old automotive designer Ugur Sahin has not only created a visually stunning concept, its name also covers the charge due to its very eminent design language translating the Corvette C3 series into a timeless design. To describe the project in one sentence is almost impossible, because this Z03 project incorporates two worlds in one: Supercar performance and the art of Automotive Haute Couture. The limited production series of 100 vehicles will be visually enhanced with stylish handcrafted Carbon Fibre bodyworks, painted in a colour to the clients choice. Every body part will be precision engineered by the state of the art engineering equipments to ensure the maximum build quality.

Since the first press release early 2008 Ugur Sahin and his team have been involved in a lot of preparations to take the Z03 concept from art to parts.

Several exterior design adjustments have been made for optimal engine cooling and improved downforce. The headlight units have been shaped into a more aggressive, yet distinctive design to fit the shape of the new powerdome hood. For fabrication and engine tuning of the limited Corvette series Ugur Sahin Design has teamed up with Mallett Cars from Berea, Ohio.

Mallett Cars has a long history with racing Corvettes and the Mallett brothers have tuned and upgraded hundreds of Corvettes over the years. Now that Ugur Sahin Design and Mallett Cars have set their minds on the Corvette C6, they are aiming to push the bar even higher for the American performance car enthusiasts.

Proof of this statement is that Mallett Cars has developed a full 24000 mile/ two year guaranteed 999 hp Twin Turbo engine upgrade, which makes the Mallett Z03 the most powerful Corvette series ever produced. After the first testings of the 999HP engine upgrade, acceleration times from 0 to 60 mp/h have been clocked under 3 seconds and the top speed of reaching 220 miles per hour.

Pricing of the conversion of your Corvette C6 or Z06 into a USD Mallett Z03 is set at $ 69.000 for the full bodywork conversion including reference class paintwork. Pricing does not include cost of the donor vehicle, which will be supplied by the customer. The Mallett Z03 will be available with two optional performance packages based on the GM’s LS7 engines, a 700 hp supercharged conversion and a 999 hp twin turbo conversion.

Russian supercar Marussia B2

Auto Car | Russian supercar Marussia B2 | The B2 is the second supercar model to be produced by the Russian manufacturer Marussia. Following close on the heels of the Marussia B1 which was revealed only months earlier, the B2 is a dramatically styled supercar which was developed in-house by Marussia's design team based in Moscow. The car was first displayed at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, but these are the first pictures of the car outside of the motorshow surroundings.According to the main ideologist of creation of the first Russian Nikolay Fomenko's super car, its company is capable to develop almost any body for short enough term. It is interesting that in Frankfurt Fomenko has shown at once three cars – besides B2 at the stand there were two more models with body В1. But the main nuance consists that cars are made of different materials: at white Marussia and at dark blue В2 bodies carbon.

Befitting a mysterious Russian supercar the company is keeping pretty quiet about what lies underneath the bodywork - and even the materials used in the construction of the body is being kept a secret, but supposedly it's a special type of plastic. And while Marussia won't yet divulge the specifications or performance offered by the drivetrain, they did reveal that both the engine and gearbox are being developed in conjunction with the highly respected powertrain engineering firm Cosworth.

Marussia are hoping to start delivering the first B2's to their new owners in 2010 and aim to be producing 150 units a year. And just like the B1, buyers of the Marussia B2 will have an extensive customization and options list. Initially the car will be offered for sale in most of continental Europe and the Near East. By the end of 2010 the company hope to begin exports to both the US and UK shores. A racing version is also in the pipeline for late 2010.

Marussia has teased their new vehicle, the Marussia B2, for a Frankfurt premiere. The B1 was designed "in the style of a jet fighter," and looks like it uses rivets as styling points. The darkened photos are intriguing, to say the least.The car looks rather interestingly, and body panels are adjusted to each other aloud better, than on the pre-series sample.
