Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera 2010

Cars Mania Blog

Auto Car | Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera 2010 | We’re used to Uwe Gemballa and the boys churning out Porsche Carrera GT special editions by the shed load, not to mention more than a handful of special edition Porsche Cayennes. Just this year we’ve had the Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS – a madly powerful Porsche Cayenne with 750bhp – and the Gemballa Mirage GT Matt - a Carrera GT in Matt Black with 640bhp. And we have wondered how long Gemballa can keep turning out Carrera GT specials. After all, there were only 1270 Carrera GTs made, and it seems like Gemballa has made at least that many Gemballa Carrera GTs!

But there might be an answer to that quandary – turn your attention to the Porsche Panamera. Gemballa has just released preliminary details on the Gemballa Mistrale, a Porsche Panamera conversion which throws a bit of Gemballa madness at Stuttgart’s latest offering.

Details are still a bit limited – and we don’t have any info yet on what Gemballa has done with the oily bits – but we do have the picture you see here, which shows the cosmetic stuff. Gemballa has had a play with the front and rear of the Panamera to give the car a more 911 feel. The front bumper is completely new, with a carbon fibre lip integrated in to the front skirt to increase downforce and improve handling, and large cooling slits help ventilation for the brakes and engine.

The rear bumper changes are integrated in to the original bumper, with an integrated rear diffuser with room for the quad tailpipes of the stainless steel system. Big air outlets on both sides of the rear skirt channel heat out of the brakes. The bonnet also gets reworked, with air outlets added. The package is finished off with a set of ultra light 22″ alloys, which lower the unsprung mass and optimise handling.
